Pixie Pictures brings state of the art cinema to remote places using the power of the sun and wind.

Pixie Pictures Geodesic Dome

Pixie Pictures is housed in a brightly coloured geodesic dome 10 metres in diameter. There is space for fifty people sitting comfortably. As well as cinema, the dome has hosted workshops in drumming and dance.

The dome has been a covering for live stage bands, it has housed night clubs and has seen more than its fair share of parties. When used for these purposes the dome can easily accommodate up to 100.

Renewable Energy

Pixie Pictures provides all of its own power needs with an array of six large solar panels and two small wind turbines. These are attached to a battery bank for storage and connected to a large inverter to step up the voltage from 12V to 240V.

In the past we have used this equipment to help provide power to events run on renewable energy. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your own unique requirements.

The Mobile Cinema

Pixie Pictures solar cinema uses the latest digital projection equipment, surround sound and rear projection methods to provide high quality pictures and sound.

Weather permitting even large screen outdoor screenings are possible.

Pixie Pictures Film Programme

Pixie Pictures can provide a programme of films tailored to the needs of the event.

Among the types of film we show are independant productions, alternative news, art films, retro and classic films, kids films and productions made by Pixie Pictures and other community groups. In order to show mainstream films Pixie Pictures must make an additional charge to cover licences.

Mobile Cinema for Hire

Our needs at event sites are minimal. All we require is a space 50ft x 50ft to site the dome and power facilities.
